Farewell to Dr John and Dr Kate Neden
Dear Patients,
It is with mixed emotions that we write this farewell letter. After serving as GPs in Ramsgate for a number of years, the time has come for a change in our journeys as General Practitioners. This year we celebrate two centenaries of General Practice to the people of Ramsgate. One for the two of us working alongside Dr Pick since 1990 at Mildmay and then East Cliff. The other for the trio of Drs Neden, following after (the late) Dr David Neden who was a GP in Ramsgate from 1958.
Change is an inevitable part of life, and we are excited to be transitioning to opportunities that will allow us to continue contributing to developments in medical care. Whilst we have both been gradually reducing our sessions in practice over the last four years, we realise that we now need to work flexibly in order to embrace these opportunities more fully. Kate is continuing to help establish the new medical school in Canterbury, training doctors of the future. John has been appointed to support the new medical examiner system, working with the East Kent Hospitals Trust.
We do not intend to ‘hang up our stethoscopes’ just yet. After a break from clinical work, we plan to do some sessional work. Depending upon the needs of the practice some of this may be at East Cliff so you may see us around, although this will not be on a regular basis.
It has been an absolute privilege to be part of your healthcare journey and we are both truly grateful for the trust that you have placed in us. We wish to express our gratitude for allowing us to be part of your lives, for sharing your health concerns and for providing us with the opportunity to provide care and support. It is however obvious that alongside you we have grown older. We realise that for some of you, particularly those who were patients of Dr David Neden before we arrived, that you have only had a GP with the surname Neden. It is never easy to say goodbye, but we are confident that your ongoing medical care will be in good hands with the East Cliff Team.
We wish you all the best for the future.
Yours sincerely
Dr John and Dr Kate Neden
